The Highest Outdoor Lift In Europe Gives Spectacular Views Of The Lake & The Alps
This tour will satisfy many goals, A drive through the countryside, spectacular views, easy hikes & Swiss cuisine. After leaving the highway we will use narrow, twisty country roads as we climb the mountain. As we climb ever higher the views increase. After arriving at the Bürgenstock Hotel & Resort we have a short and easy 25-minute hike along the cliffs of Bürgenstock looking out over Lake Lucerne, followed by a quick ascent of 152 meters (500 feet) on the Hammetschwand Lift to the top of the mountain. (See Photo Gallery)
We can enjoy lunch here at the Bergrestaurant, or we can bring a lunch, and enjoy the views of Lake Lucerne on one side and the Alps on the other side.
We will have the option of either taking the lift back down and retracing our steps or walking down the other side of the mountain with views of the Alps, walking past grazing cows, with the sounds of cowbells serenading us throughout the valley. If the group wants to split up here it isn’t a problem, both paths lead back to the car.
