The Best Switzerland Vacation Packages

Hello, my name is Douglas; and I have had the good fortune of calling this beautiful place “home”.

I have owned and operated a successful guiding business in the USA for the past 9 years. On one of our organized ski weekends, I met my Swiss wife (who was living in the USA at the time) and we eventually moved to Switzerland to start our family. Three things I knew I wanted to do in Switzerland 1) explore every nook and cranny of this beautiful country, 2) learn as much history and folklore as possible about this amazing country and 3) continue pursuing my passion of being a guide and sharing all the treasures (well known treasures and hidden gems) this amazing country has to offer.

I explore Switzerland via car, road bike, mountain bike, kayak, hiking boots, train, etc. As a lover of nature and history I have immersed myself in all things Swiss, but maintain the fresh eyes of a visitor. If you want to see the tourism highlights, or the off the beaten path sights, or a mixture of both I am able to cater a trip to suit your heart’s desires…and if you aren’t sure what you want, I can help you figure that out as well.

While my tours are pre-written I aim to customize each trip to the strengths, desires, and passions of each group that I work with in order to make it extra special for you. As a driver/guide I have the ability to take you to places that are off the beaten path. As an avid hiker (hiking boots or snowshoes), kayaker and cyclist I would be more than happy to show you Switzerland in a more adventurous way if that is your heart’s desire. I can arrange equipment and organize a trip to match your skill and fitness level.

My success as a tour guide is attributed to 4 things:

1. My passion – I am extremely passionate about my job as a tour guide. Very few things in life bring more satisfaction than helping people find that breathtaking moment that will be remembered for a lifetime.

2. My mission of not being just a tour guide – I try to be that well informed local friend that shows you not only the highlighted tourist attractions but the hidden gems and give you a taste of the real Switzerland, as locals see it. I strive to get to know you in order to customize the trip specifically for you and your family/group.

3. Repeat business – With my business in the USA a large portion of my business has been repeat business. There is no better measure of how well you perform your job than repeat customers. I treat every customer as if they were a friend. I am just as interested in my customers as they are about Switzerland. I enjoy learning about my customers not only so I can customize the tour to meet their desires, but also because I learn so much from all the different cultures and backgrounds of the people I work with.

4. I take the responsibility of being your tour guide very seriously – You put a lot of time planning and dreaming about your trip to Switzerland. My job is to make sure that your expectations and dreams are met and hopefully exceeded. I strive to set realistic expectations for your trip and communicate with you efficiently so you have less to worry about, and more to dream about.

Whether your interests are history, culture, scenic vistas, city life, off the beaten path sites, family fun; whether you want a nice relaxing time, a little exercise, or perhaps a little bit of adrenaline, I offer a trip for almost everyone.

NOTE – If you are interested in a day that I have listed as “unavailable”, have a bigger group size, or would like a customized trip tailored to your specific desires please contact me directly. I may be able to make accommodations.
