The described itinerary was met fully, yet he frequently offered the option to add or delete bits as circumstances allowed. Doug was a magician. Our original plans were blown up when it poured. Rather than a boat ride, cable car and tram excursion we spent the day in Doug’s very comfortable and spacious SUV. We spent the time in the ALPS finding enough space between the rain drops to have an enjoyable day and capture waterfalls and snow capped peaks. One of the highlights was a leisurely Sunday lunch with towns’ people at Hotel Stechelberg in the Alps near Interlaken.

Doug was the perfect tour guide for our visit to the picturesque Bernese Oberland Region in Switzerland. We had no hassle of renting a car and driving and wasting time with directions. He is charming and a good driver and showed us many highlights. At a 12th century old castle by Lake Thun, we experienced a jaw dropping magnificent panoramic views of the Alps and the lake. We had an amazing tour with Doug! It was a bit rainy, so Doug had great ideas to maximize our tour on a day when the weather wasn’t going to cooperate. We took the train and saw some breathtaking mountain & waterfall views, then did a hike through a local gorge. We were able to be outside, but still kept mostly dry by the steep cliff walls & caves. The scenery was like nothing we have ever seen! Doug is energetic, super-fun and he knows the area and it’s history. That’s a perfect combination!

Doug was very patient and helpful while we were designing a private tour for our group. Although he’s from Lucerne, he agreed to do our tour of Zurich for us. He planned the route to all the attractions we wanted to see. We didn’t have to do much walking. Although we only had a 6-hour tour with him, he was worth every minute.
